Автономной Республики Крым

Шахматно-шашечная Федерация Автономной Республики Крым самостоятельная добровольная общественная организацией любителей шахмат и шашек, которая занимается развитием данных видов спорта в Автономной Республике Крым.

Основной целью Федерации является развитие шахмат и шашек в Автономной Республике Крым, проведение соревнований и учебно-тренировочных занятий, использование благородных принципов этих игр для всестороннего и гармоничного развития личности, повышение роли культуры и спорта, формирование здорового образа жизни. Для достижения этой цели Федерация решает следующие задачи:

- осуществляет деятельность на принципах олимпийского движения;

- совершенствует систему подготовки высококвалифицированных спортсменов, тренеров, судей;

- готовит к утверждению Положения о республиканских соревнованиях;

- проводит соревнования, согласно утвержденного календаря и плана спортивно - массовых мероприятий;

- ведет правовую и социальную защиту спортсменов, тренеров и других специалистов, а также ветеранов спорта;

- пропагандирует шахматно-шашечный спорт среди населения, разрабатывает программы по развитию шахмат и шашек;

- готовит материалы для присвоения спортивных разрядов и званий.

The FMJD was founded in 1947 by four federations, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland. Its main purpose was to regulate the competition on the world championship. Though from 1897 onwards world champions had been proclaimed, between France and the Netherlands, the growth of the number of countries and the desire to have a more regular competition gave rise to this international organization. From this early start, the FMJD grew to close to fifty participating national federations it has at present. Recently the FMJD has become a member of GAISF, the General Association of International Sport Federations, the umbrella organization for all internationally recognized sports, Olympic and - in the case of draughts - non Olympic. As such, the FMJD membership (and that of the FIDE and WBF (bridge) is part of a more general movement towards integration of mind sports in the regular sports arenas, a development that in the vision of the FMJD is to be lauded.

European Draughts Confederation

The idea of founding European Draughts Confederation emerged in mid-1990s. The main reason was the willingness to organize club games in Europe.

First unofficial meetings of the members of European Draughts Confederation took place in October 1997 in Poland during Women’s World Championship and in December 1997 in Stadskanaal, the Netherlands during Challenge Mondial. After these initial talks, actions were taken to put the plans into practice.
On 13 August 1998 in Tallinn, Estonia representatives of 12 European federations met and brought EDC into existence officially.

Already next year the official draughts calendar was considerably widened. Beside European Championships, which already had their tradition, Women’s European Championships were started. European Club Championships, which are held regularly, always bring together the greatest draughts players. EDC did not forget about the youth. In 1999, the first Youth European Championships were held with 98 draughts players. During the last few years, the number of competitors has been around 200 and the number is increasing year by year.

Draughts Association Meets Sports Council to Introduce World Cup Finalist

Members of the Gambia National Draughts Association headed by its President Momodou Lamin Dibba on Tuesday August 4th 2009 paid a courtesy call on the National Sports Council, the body charged with overseeing the affairs of sports in the country, to introduce Gambian champion Sheikh Njie.

It could be recalled that Sheikh Njie was on Wednesday 22nd July 2009 confirmed as the Gambia’s only representative in the forth-coming draughts world cup to be staged by Brazil in September after finishing sixth out of twelve draughts participants drawn from twelve different countries that took part in the African Draughts confederation and the Draughts world cup qualifiers, at the Paradise Suites Hotel.

Canadian Checkers Game

CANADA is known for many regional legends, and even in the game of Canadian Checkers, there exists a legend about the origin of the Canadian version. According to this legend, some time during the 19th century, a traveler came from Europe, where he had become enthralled with a game called ‘le jeu de dames’, or Draughts.

Here, in Canada, he tried to reproduce the same game but could not remember the actual number of squares on the playing board so he added an additional row of squares all the way around the game board, which created 144 squares in total. Therefore, the playing surface of the Canadian checkers game became a 12 x 12 board, instead of the 10 x 10 board of the European checkers strategy game. As a result, this game was named "le jeu de dames canadien” or Canadian checkers.

"Le jeu de dames canadien”, also known as Montreal or Quebec checkers, became a very popular game of strategy amongst the French-speaking communities of Quebec, Ontario, and New England. Later, the interest in this Canada checkers board game spread to other communities throughout Canada and is still a common activity pursued by many Canadian game enthusiasts, just as it is the world over. In fact, Canadian checkers game is also played in India and Sri Lanka.

About the American Checker Federation
The American Checker Federation (ACF) is a non-profit organization and the central governing body for checkers in the United States. The ACF has had members in Australia, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada, England, Ireland, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, the United States, Wales, and the West Indies!!!
The ACF holds many checker tournaments across the United States and sponsors an annual National Checker Tournament and National Youth Tournament.
Members receive the ACF Bulletin bi-monthly, which contains tournament announcements and results, checker news, and select annotated games of previous National Checker Tournaments.

Вот и подвернулся подходящий повод вновь поговорить о шашках в интернете. С момента моего последнего обзора прошло немало времени, но мало что изменилось на шашечных полях Рунета. Вторую неделю "лежит" сайт ФШР, а были ведь времена, когда мы старались по популярности его догнать. Появился ряд новых сайтов, в основном они посвящены программам, но про один следует сказать особо. Это сайт в поддержку создания новой стоклеточной федерации России. Немало хороших идей было выдвинуто и писем написано. Хочется верить, что создание новой федерации не окажется самоцелью, а действительно пойдет на пользу шашкам.

История шашек

История шашек, как и многих других игр, уходит в далёкую древность. Игра, подобная шашкам (Алькерк) была распространена в Древнем Египте и первые упоминания о ней относятся к 1600 году до н.э. Невооружённым глазом видно сходство игры в шахматы и шашки - об это говорят и клетчатые доски, и разделение на "белые" и "чёрные" фигуры, и поочерёдность ходов, и многие другие элементы обеих игр. И эти совпадения совершенно не случайны - игра в шашки в современном виде появилась благодаря французам, которые примерно в 12 веке скрестили египетский Алькерк с игрой в шахматы.

21 мая в MuzCafe в неравной схватке сошлись титаны шашечной игры. Это был особенно тяжелый день, так как в борьбе за первое место участвовали две величайшие державы на Земле - Америка и Молдова. Счет сложился 2:0 в нашу пользу. Скромная девушка из Молдовы одолела двух представителей из США. Ну, что же поделать, не их это игра - поглощать алкоголь малыми дозами в больших количествах.

В ходе чемпионата по пьяным шашкам ни один гость из Америки не пострадал. (очень красивые фотки)
